The salon client is the basic building block of any salon, and without them, your business is doomed.  Victoria Thomas has written an article at Behind the Chair entitled, Building a Clientele in Your First Year and Beyond, with 8 items to keep in mind.  The items are:

  4. Work Your ‘Hood
  5. Reward Your Initial Clients
  6. If It’s New, It’s News
  7. Market Without Ceasing
  8. Listen to Her

Please do see her article for in depth explanation of all of the items, but basically you want to be focused, not waste time and money on things that don’t really matter, ABC (always be closing), and take extremely good care of your current clients.  These are really the basic building blocks of your business, and to be sure you have these things covered is a very wise decision.
